How long can a body survive without water in over 40°C heat? Will drinking your own pee help? These questions are fine if you’re Bear Grylls, but aren’t much use if you’re a regular family taking a short trip for some clay-pigeon shooting with just a few snacks and a couple of bottles of water.

This reconstructed documentary takes a belt-and-braces approach, recalling what happened to Shelly Hubbard’s family when they got lost in the Arizona desert. A dead phone battery and gangs of drug traffickers were the least of their problems...
