Lots of people have a “bucket list” of things to do and places to see before they die. Ben Fogle kicks off his (not that he’s dying!) by training for an “adventure race” in Australia that makes a triathlon look like a Sunday walk. It involves swimming, kayaking, mountain biking and lots of running, so he’ll need some practice: which is why he’s swimming from Alcatraz to San Francisco, and signally failing to master the racing kayak.
