In the disturbing moral swamp of this series, you never know what horrors will rear up next. Our gang of unlikely heroes are adjusting to life on the run and trying to identify the mysterious Mr Rabbit. Ranged against them is the Network – some kind of biological weapons programme gone rogue – which seems able to murder innocents at will. It may be all-powerful but it relies to a surprising extent on a podgy hitman in an off-green leather jacket doing its dirty work.
This is all to further some sinister but not-very-clear agenda (Viral vectors? Human genome? Whatever). Never mind the plotlines, the mood is superbly menacing and, oh my, it all looks beautiful.
