It’s not the crash calls that will have you on the edge of your seat, nibbling at your fingernails. It’s the supposedly routine: Jen struggling to fit a catheter; Tristan spending far too long on his first ward round; Tom turning pinker and pinker as he presents to a po-faced consultant; poor old Ed struggling to do anything at all correctly…
There’s also a sobering theme to tonight’s episode: alcohol abuse. The Royal Liverpool University Hospital has more alcohol-related cases than any other, so there’s no shortage of action for the fledgeling medics.
