After the execution of Aziz, light seems to flood into this French thriller and make it resemble a much more routine police procedural. But not for long, because the layers of complexity and the shades of morality are now engraved on the action. Bent lawyer Josephine Karlsson slides deeper into the Larbis’ criminal world, while Chief Inspector Laure Berthaud seems to become ever more human.

When undercover agent Samy is compromised, there’s a palpable sense that Berthaud and the team can sort out any problem. Except Karlsson, that is. It all builds towards the final, high-tension twists in a gripping series...
