2/6. Julia Bradbury visits the picturesque Mawddach estuary in Snowdonia. Located between Dolgellau and the coastal resort of Barmouth, this area became a popular tourist destination in the 1860s thanks to the railway connecting it to England's major cities. Since the closure of the train line, the location is now one of the least visited in the region, but has retained its stunning natural beauty.
