The crimes investigated by Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme are always of the neat, bloodless variety, and this episode is no exception. The gardening sleuths are restoring a lawn at an exclusive boarding school where the disappearance of a Polish student alerts them to a tale of passion, rivalry and revenge.
But in traditional murder mysteries such as these, it’s always the proles who are the most expendable, so it comes as no surprise when a local handyman turns up dead. Actresses Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris ensure that an hour spent in their company is always an entertaining one, even if the whole thing could be solved by a blindfolded Scooby-Doo.
