About this programme
With more than half a million foreign migrants - including failed asylum seekers and bogus students - estimated to be hiding from UK authorities, many have turned to a life of criminality involving drugs, violence and prostitution to survive. As a consequence, gangs have taken advantage of the situation and employ an illegal travel network which enables people to be smuggled in - and out - of Britain. Reporter Paul Kenyon goes undercover and shows how the authorities appear powerless to curtail this lucrative activity.
