Baking can be dangerous, you know: the biscuits baked by one of tonight’s celebrities are so hard they almost break Mary Berry’s teeth when she tries a bite.
In the last edition Claudia Winkleman, Martha Kearney, Olympic rower Helen Glover and Ed Byrne also bake birthday cakes and lemon meringue pies, but two pies turn out looking more like Eton Mess while one is simply an unmitigated disaster. “Hmm, it seems to have been through a journey,” says Mary diplomatically. “It’s terrible!” exclaims Paul Hollywood once
he’s stopped laughing.
