“This is ridiculous, Inspector Valentine, even for you!” splutters Father Brown (Mark Williams) as the policeman (Hugo Speer) jumps to a rather obvious conclusion about who might have murdered Anne-Marie Adams, a theatrical type with an alcohol problem. There are plenty of suspects, but It’s not until the family decide to stage Anne-Marie’s latest play in her memory that Father Brown unravels the mystery. The motive turns out to be related to money and a beautiful diamond necklace known as the Flying Stars.
Sorcha Cusack, Josephine Butler, Nancy Carroll and Julian Wadham guest-star.
