A teenage Paul O’Grady quivers after seeing The Exorcist at the pictures. On his way home, he’s terrorised by a familiar-looking tramp and sharp-tongued Lily Savage, and ends up seeking refuge in his mother’s bed – a wonderfully shrill Alison Steadman in hairnet.
About this programme
9/12. Autobiographical comedy short chronicling the comedian's memories of seeing horror film The Exorcist as an 18-year-old in 1974, followed by a series of encounters with various unsavoury characters - including none other than Lily Savage - on his way home. Robin Morrissey stars as the young Paul, with Alison Steadman (star of her own Little Cracker on Monday) as his mother.
