The Later host has plenty of juicy episodes to draw on for this autobiographical journey, with his more than 30 years in the limelight encompassing two stints in Squeeze and his own Rhythm ’n’ Blues Orchestra, plus presenting duties on The Tube and, for two decades, BBC2’s live music showcase. He starts in east London, his childhood stamping ground, before mozeying on to Greenwich, site of his own studio, and BBC Television Centre, which is sadly now no longer Later’s home.
Holland has amassed a more than decent line-up of celebrity admirers: Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Tom Jones, Paul Weller, Bob Geldof and Vic Reeves all pop up here to say nice things.
