But the channel also deserves credit for resisting any urge to punch the air in triumph at the impact – both journalistic and societal – of its investigation. Tonight Mark Williams-Thomas, whose persistence led to those first shocking revelations seven weeks ago, returns to the story to examine how Savile was able to contaminate the lives of so many for so long.
