This week’s task for the remaining nine young apprentices is to prepare a themed afternoon tea to sell in the grounds of an English stately home.

One team opt to run a 1940s tea parlour, the other a Mad Hatter’s
tea party (certainly their decision to serve delicacies such as jam and cheese sandwiches – yes, you read that correctly – was totally mad).

However, you will not believe the chaos that ensues when they finally set up their tea tents at Blenheim Palace (also featured tonight on Channel 4). “It sounds like a chimps’ tea party,” says Lord Sugar, determined to get in his quota of puns, “when it should have been a piece of cake.”

The junior business brains select drinks and sandwich ingredients, and then roll up their sleeves to bake cakes, hoping to entice hungry customers into the contestants' themed marquees - and while one team opts for a posh 1940s style, the other goes all out with a Mad Hatter's tea party, including psychedelic buns and cheap sandwich fillings. Will the plan have Lord Sugar grinning like a Cheshire cat, or will it be `off with their heads?'.
