It’s alleged that the more hopeless a celebrity is at dancing, the fewer clothes their professional dancing partner will wear. It’s an interesting theory and, while I’m not sure it’s true, it could be a helpful guideline for those of us at home trying to judge what’s happening on the dance floor while being distracted by the swooping camerawork so beloved of Strictly.
Those cameras will be swooping around Wembley Arena for a special edition tonight. Kylie Minogue will also be on hand to sing an old favourite and — even better news — Brucie is back after his week off.
About this programme
13/24. Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly present a ballroom bonanza live from Wembley Arena, where the couples dance down the decades from 1920s Charleston to 1970s disco. Celebrity hoofers Richard Arnold, Nicky Byrne, Dani Harmer, Victoria Pendleton, Lisa Riley, Louis Smith, Denise Van Outen, Michael Vaughan and Kimberley Walsh will be hoping not to put a foot wrong as they entertain an audience of 6,000, while Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell comment and give their scores - although the viewers' votes help determine which two pairs will be in the dance-off tomorrow night. There is also an appearance from pop princess Kylie Minogue, performing a new version of her first single, Locomotion. The results are tomorrow at 7.20pm.
