If it weren’t for spotting familiar faces (Tricia Penrose, Bill Ward, Louis Emerick and Dominique Jackson in this episode), you’d swear this was a fly-on-the-wall documentary about police procedure rather than a drama. The performances are remarkably natural, while the script sounds improvised.
In this episode DI Jane Preston and DS Ben Shaw grow frustrated with their investigations into an assault on a man during a burglary. Initially it looks as though it was a homeowner protecting his property with a bit too much force. However, it turns out that there’s a connection between the family and the intruder.
About this programme
6/20. DI Jane Preston and DS Ben Shaw investigate when homeowner Ray Carroll attacks a burglar inside his property, and ends up putting the perpetrator in hospital. However, it comes to light that the supposed criminal has a history with Ray, and this is not the first time he has been left needing medical treatment. The detectives soon suspect there is more to the story than the Carroll family is letting on. Drama, guest starring Louis Emerick (Brookside), Tricia Penrose (Heartbeat) and Bill Ward (Coronation Street).
