For One Night Only

Episode 1. Clapton Unplugged

Radio Times
Review by:
Jane Anderson

On a cold and dark morning in January 1992, a group of die-hard Eric Clapton fans gathered outside London’s Broadcasting House before being piled onto a bus to take them to a secret location — Bray Studios in Berkshire. They had won a Radio 1 competition to witness their hero play an unplugged session.

This unique event was to become one of the most successful live albums ever and introduced hardcore, old-fashioned blues into millions of people’s record collections. This fascinating documentary dissects the day, with plenty of colour from Clapton himself.
