Series 3 - 7. Festival

The penultimate episode of an Apprentice series is the cruellest. The candidates can almost smell the final. They simply know they won’t let Lord Sugar down. Except tonight, two of them will. Yes, it’s a double firing, a device sometimes sprung on candidates when they don’t expect it and can lead to that delicious moment where, after endless ebb and flow, one of the candidates gets fired, the rest breathe a sigh of relief... and then Sugar reaches for another bullet.

The teams’ task is to choose products to sell at the Womad music festival. Is a pedal-powered washing machine the answer?

About this programme

7/8. Alan Sugar sets the hopefuls their penultimate challenge, which is to select products to sell at Womad, the world music festival, attended by almost 40,000 fans. One trio believe they will clean up with a pedal-powered washing machine, while the other three are sure there is nothing the festival-goers will want more than a portable toilet. However, the stakes are high this week. The winners will automatically have a place in the final and only one of the losers will join them - the other two will be fired.
