Series 1 - 9. Leave Me Alone

Radio Times

Claire Webb

Tonight’s episode begins with a deftly fought verbal duel and ends with an all-out slanging match. Both involve our self-obsessed heroine – wannabe writer Hannah – who is slit-eyed with envy when an ex-classmate publishes a book about her boyfriend’s suicide. With her boyfriend in rudely rude health, she reluctantly follows her tutor’s advice and reads her work to strangers who look like they’d rather be listening to fingernails screeching down a blackboard. This viewer didn’t know whether to guffaw or hide behind her hands in empathy. Alas, more strife awaits at home…
