After last week’s disappointment at not being granted a boxing licence, former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff throws himself into training for his debut fight with renewed intensity. His faith in trainers Barry and Shane McGuigan grows with each bloody nose and laddish changing room commiseration.
There’s still one question mark hanging over Freddie, though: can the gentle Lancashire giant find the aggression needed to really pose a threat in the ring?
Who better, therefore, to invite to the gym than the ferocious, controversial former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
About this programme
2/3. Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff's mission to become a boxer gains momentum and he throws himself into training with added gusto - almost too much when a bust lip forces him to visit the dentist for a gum shield. An afternoon's rest allows him to fit in a round of golf with Premier League manager Harry Redknapp, before he receives advice from a legend of the ring - Mike Tyson. But he still needs to secure a licence if he is to compete on fight night.
