Proof, if needed, that singing in a choir is a popular pursuit sweeping the country. More than 5,000 singers in 138 choirs from up and down the UK entered this competition – whittled down to six groups for this grand final at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
Those finalists are: Lindley Junior School Choir from Huddersfield; Surrey Hills Chamber Choir from Guildford; Methodist College Girls’ Choir from Belfast; Ysgol Glanaethwy Senior Choir from Bangor; Les Sirènes from Glasgow and the Oxford Gargoyles.
Tim Rhys-Evans and Josie d’Arby present highlights of the final, where the judges include West End and Broadway musical star Ruthie Henshall.
