It's not quite up there with the famous "Who shot JR?" Dallas cliff-hanger, but as any number of characters have admitted they hated Paul Young, his shooting at the end of the last run gives us a satisfying mystery to kick off the next one. But while we and the sharp-suited police of Fairview ponder that one, Susan is in hospital after the removal of her ruptured kidney. Having already kicked her while she was down (literally - she was trampled during a riot in Wisteria Lane), the scriptwriters go in for the kill by making her remaining kidney faulty. There's a bit of a "domestic" in the Solis household with Gaby unable to let go emotionally of her biological daughter Grace despite the damage it's doing to Juanita, the child she's brought up as her own for nine years. And in the Van der Kamp camp handyman Keith has moved in with Bree. While I've never thought DH was connected to reality in any way whatsoever, this chalk-and-cheese coupling is as preposterous as Mary Poppins falling for Gene Hunt.

Meanwhile, Susan's life hangs in the balance after being trampled on by the mob on Wisteria Lane, and Gabrielle tries to erase Grace from her life in an effort to repair her relationship with Juanita.
