My, but these Paralympians have a dark sense of humour. When equestrian Lee Pearson suggests a new event for disabled sportspeople, shooting team member Ann Wild proposes wheelchair hurdles. Swimmer Giles Long votes for motorsport: “Even if you crashed the car, you can’t really do yourself any more damage.”
After swimmer Rachael Latham’s story about an amputee’s prank, Giles explains, “Lots of people think disabled people Bez around all day with blue badges on their heads looking for a parking space. But we get up to the same nonsense everyone else does.” Including making a chocolate pudding to resemble horse dung, Giles?
About this programme
Four Paralympians - retired swimmers Giles Long and Rachael Latham, shooter Ann Wild and dressage rider Lee Pearson - compete to win £1,000 for charity. The week begins with a `wear your worst tracksuit' evening hosted by Giles, followed by a sophisticated soiree courtesy of Ann on day two. On Lee's night he faces questions about how much of the cooking he has done himself, while for the final evening Rachael throws a lively Mexican-themed party.
