Super Freaks of Nature

Series 1 - Episode 1

Radio Times
Review by:
Gill Crawford

Hidden among breathless hyperbole like “witness unique snake-on-snake cannibal action!” is some genuine animal behavioural research in this (un)natural world double bill. But really, how much do you need or want to know about Caribbean centipedes big enough to eat bats? In episode two scientists make an alligator throw up and study the problem-solving abilities of the octopus using a luckless crab in a jar. Ghouls’ paradise.

About this programme

1/2. Strange abilities exhibited by animals, reptiles and insects. The first of two episodes features giant centipedes and reveals how Alpine mountain goats keep their balance.
