When Simon Cowell’s roulette-based game show first arrived last year, it quickly ran into trouble. Ratings dropped off dramatically, reviews were universally dismal and there was a campaign calling for the first million-pound winner to return his prize money when it was discovered he had a criminal record. So it’s not looking too promising for the second series, although hitching itself to the mighty X Factor won’t harm viewing figures, and the high-jeopardy stunts were always great fun to watch.

Presented once again by Ant and Dec, in this series if the prize isn’t won on a Saturday night, the money will roll over to the following week.

In the first edition, the fun includes superhumans smashing through panes of glass, card throwers dealing in amazing feats and a performance game from chart-topping band Cover Drive.
