About this programme

A celebration of Günter Wand to mark 100 years since his birth, paying tribute to a conductor who epitomised the Austro-German musical tradition. Including performances of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony and the Symphony No 9 finale, with the NDR Symphony Orchestra conducted by Wand himself. Plus music by Schubert, Mozart, Haydn and Schumann.
