Si King and Dave Myers have been doing well on their weight loss adventure (no mention of the d-word now) but they realise it’s trickier to control your calorie intake when you’re eating out. “There’s a minefield of full fat food out there,” explains Si, sorrowfully gazing through a bakery window at the scrumptious breads and cakes.

So on the Hairies’ “cooking clever” menu today are slim-line versions of a proper meat pie, well-stuffed picnic sarnies and - most tantalising of all - an alternative to fat-laden Indian and Chinese takeaways. The lads keep their trousers on a bit more this week but be warned, there’s still mention of Dave’s sex life and Si’s flatulence.

Si King and Dave Myers come up with a fat-friendly pie for fellow dieter Ann, baking a pastry treat that comes in below the 700 calories of a standard pork pie - but keen to lose as much weight as they can, they don't taste it themselves. Moving on to Dave's home town of Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, the duo try to persuade the diners in Chinese and Indian restaurants that their favourite dishes can be even better with all the fattening elements removed.
