The silly-season news story, when the Hyde Park music festival took place last month, was that a jobsworth at Westminster Council had pulled the plug on Bruce Springsteen playing Beatles songs with Paul McCartney. In fact it was the event’s own organisers conforming to a pre-arranged curfew, with the Boss having ruled for longer than agreed; but rule he did and the best bits are here. An even better gig took place the following night, when Paul Simon came to town to play songs from Graceland - although the highlight proved to be his clear, still reading of The Sound of Silence.
