Friends and rivals knows what a difficult time taekwondo fighter Sarah Stevenson has had in the past year, losing both her parents. But her mum’s dying wish was for her daughter to forget about the illness and go and win the world championships, which she did.

This is her fourth, and probably last, Olympics and the Hollywood ending would be for her to win gold. But there are 15 finely toned females ready to fight her for the medal. Unfortunately she picked up a knee injury in Mexico in February, and it will be a big ask to get fit in time. If she is fit, she has the experience and will rise to the occasion. Everyone in that draw will be hoping to avoid her.
