New series. In the first of a three-part programme exploring the nation's relationship with food, Julie Etchingham investigates the impact of rising food prices on already-tight family budgets and looks at how some people are changing their shopping habits to cut costs. She visits a food bank where free groceries are given to the needy, and meets a mother-of-two struggling to put food on the table even though her husband has a job.
