Don’t get too wrapped up in A Gifted Man, it was axed in the US after just one season. The gifted man in question is the competitive, self-absorbed Dr Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson) who is visited by the ghost of his dead wife who begs him to continue her work with the poor and the needy.

Though A Gifted Man isn’t quite as awful as it sounds (though it’s close), it rings with cliché, which is a big surprise when you consider its executive producer is the gifted Jonathan “Silence of the Lambs” Demme.
