Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose Weight

Series 1 - Episode 1

The Hairy Bikers are big lads. Big, ebullient lads. At the start of this new series even they don’t realise quite how gargantuan they are. A crestfallen Si King is uncharacteristically subdued when a doctor lays out the awful truth — that 42 per cent of body mass is fat (40 per cent for his pal Dave Myers).

The pair, who as anyone who has watched their previous series will know, rejoice in butter and solid portions of chunky food (a dietician reveals that 40 per cent of the Hairies’ total diet comprises fat). But they decide that this has to change. They must lose weight by eating more healthily. With the support of their families, and a group of other like-minded souls who, for one reason or another, want to drop a few stone, they embark on a new way of dieting. Along the way King goes back to his old primary school to get to the root cause of his over-eating; it’s an unhappy story.

About this programme
