Weightlifting tends to conjure up images of sweaty giants with jutting veins and crimson faces. But this documentary, which follows three young women vying for a spot on the British Olympic team, paints a very different picture.

The trio of hopefuls are fresh out of school and alongside their gruelling training sessions, face challenges such as getting an education and falling in love. The weight on their shoulders isn’t just physical though as they battle for a spot at the Games while trying to live a normal life.

Full of highs, lows, tears, tantrums and triumphs, it’s a real eye-opener to the immense effort they have to invest before the Games begin.
