So far Andrew Lloyd Webber and his casting panel (Jason Donovan and Melanie C, with Amanda Holden presenting) have seen an extraordinary array of singers who reckon they’ve got what it takes to play Jesus on stage in Jesus Christ Superstar - “the whole gamut, from heavy metal types with long hair and tattoos… to some with no experience whatsoever and guys who’d played leading men in West End shows,” according to Melanie C.
In this instalment the Lord selects his ten finalists after taking them to his villa in Mallorca to hear them sing one more time. Dawn French joins the panel tomorrow, while the live shows and public voting begin on Monday.

3/12. Andrew Lloyd Webber invites the 30 remaining hopefuls to his villa in Majorca, where they battle it out in solo performances to make it through to the next stage. The 20 survivors then return to London to face a challenge in front of Andrew, Jason Donovan and Melanie C, but only 10 will be selected to compete for viewers' votes tomorrow.
