Along with Hampton Court Flower Show this is a more informal event than their big posh sister at Chelsea.

However, since introducing the RHS young designer of the year award in 2009 Tatton Park has developed quite a reputation for showcasing new horticultural talents. But there are some old hands in Cheshire too: Chris Beardshaw has created a display designed to focus our minds on the green space in our urban environments while, in Friday’s show, Monty Don and co look at the colourful submissions for the flowerbed competition.
