The Donington Park rock festival — named after the modern practice of “downloading” music in electronic form — scared off inclement weather last month to deliver several behemoths in loud mood. The peak of this first highlights package is a set by Metallica, stern headmasters of heavy metal. They played their 1991 “Black Album” in full — and, in accordance with Satan’s wish, did so in reverse order. Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters are among the top tracks. Other festival highlights may include Soundgarden, Machine Head, Biffy Clyro, Megadeth, Slash and Anthrax.
