2/7. Dominic Littlewood and Melinda Messenger head to Worcester Park in Surrey to help a newlywed couple who were ripped off by a man they knew beforehand. After one of their relatives died and left behind a 1920s semi, Karen and Tristan Crook bought the house and planned to update the rooms, convert the loft and add a rear extension. The builder - an ex-boyfriend from Karen's teenage years - quoted them £68,000 for the job, but four months later had walked off site with £41,000 of their money, leaving the renovations largely unfinished.
