Getting to see a specialist in the Channel Islands can be tricky: outpatients at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on Guernsey live within a 120-mile radius on six different islands. Luckily, one might come to you.

For more than 20 years, David Pring has been both a qualified surgeon and a fully licensed pilot, flying himself to house calls – which 82-year-old Robin, who lives on the northernmost of the Channel Islands, for one is very grateful for.

While this observational series is centred on the hospital, its staff and patients, it’s not just about medical conditions. We learn about different facets of island life, too, from tourism to weddings.
