When introducing some of his lesser guests, Piers Morgan has to expend considerable effort just to get us interested. It might be better if he looked us in the eyes and said, “Look, this bloke isn’t exactly fascinating, but I just wanted to meet him. OK?” Having Sir Roger Moore in the hotseat removes the need.
With nudging, the longest-serving 007 will take us through his life, from his roots in south London as the son of a policeman through his four marriages, extraordinary career and spells as a cancer and cardiac patient.
With the 50th anniversary of James Bond on film in October, Moore also has a licence – nay, a duty – to share golden moments from his biggest screen role.
