“I’m preparing for a catastrophic oil crisis!” bellows Texan web designer Megan before she points out the the safes full of weapons (“This one is for handguns and pistols, this one is for small rifles”) in her tiny apartment.
Megan is a doomsday “prepper” who has readied herself for the collapse of society. Though you will be forced to examine whether you’d want to belong to any post-Armageddon world that had someone as mirthless as Megan in it.
Meanwhile, Paul and Gloria Range live in nine 40ft steel shipping containers, with 15 years’ worth of food for when life as we know it ends. “It’s not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle,” says the deadly serious Paul.
