After viewers deserted the Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley-hosted version of the morning show, ITV1 has been working hard to turn Daybreak into a softer, warmer, programme. Hmm, sounds a bit like the old-style GMTV.
But, in any case, who better to sit on the sofa this time around than Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones, both of whom come across as so cosy and approachable half the country probably thinks of them as their friends. ITV1 are keeping very quiet about any other changes to the show but presumably there’ll be a new comfy set to fit in with the new image.
About this programme
Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones take over hosting duties on the morning show, welcoming Cold Feet star James Nesbitt, who talks about his role in fantasy drama The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is released in December. Plus, news and current affairs, as well as health, entertainment and lifestyle features.
