What is it about camper vans and round-Britain cookery shows? Whether you’re Jamie Oliver, Martin Dorey or Rick Stein, it’s apparently the only way to travel. In this new series, Lynda Bellingham takes to the road in her camper van to seek out the country’s best summer eats – at country fêtes, family picnics and street parties.
But she gets her hands dirty, too, by undertaking a daily cookery challenge, which could be anything from baking a perfect Victoria Sandwich cake for a village cricket team to cooking curry for the local lifeboat men.
About this programme
4/20. The presenter continues her camper-van tour as she travels through West Sussex, visiting a vintage fire engine and commercial vehicle show in Amberley and learning how to make bread and butter at a farm. She also attends a Mediterranean festival at West Dean, where she walks around the walled gardens and prepares a lime and basil cheesecake.
