After last week’s Icelandic bromance with Jake Gyllenhaal, Bear is back on his own (apart from the camera crew) and facing a soggier challenge. Jumping out of a Hercules C130, he parachutes into a remote valley of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, which he has to cross to get to the coast, where most of the population lives. It’s a rain-drenched, rugged trip: he slips off lichen-covered rocks into a river, and seems genuinely surprised when one trick he tries for crossing a ravine actually works.
