The UK Open. The fourth day of competition at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton brought the tournament to a close, as the four remaining players contested the semi-finals and final. James Wade and Wes Newton were successful at the semi-final stage last year, defeating Mark Webster and Denis Ovens respectively, and it was Wade who would go on to lift the trophy after winning 11-8 in the final.
