This isn’t a run-of-the-mill Roadshow because it’s really not about the monetary worth of treasured objects; it’s the sentimental values that are incalculable. After an appeal last year, members of the public responded with their mementos and stories about the Queen.
So, in the grounds of Kensington Palace, we meet a lady who sewed the buttonholes on to the then Princess Elizabeth’s wedding dress, and actor Charles Collingwood tells a touching story about his godmother. Elsewhere there are signed letters and a Christmas card touchingly bearing the signature “Lilibet”.
About this programme
