Until now, Lord Sugar has been the scariest thing on The Apprentice short of the menu at the Bridge Café. But on the final lap, two scarier things arrive. The first is Claude Littner, a man so aggressively rude he makes Alan Sugar look like Alan Bennett. Littner’s interview questions are just one hurdle the final four candidates must clear. The other is the right eyebrow of Margaret Mountford. When she shoots you her trademark evil eye, you know you’re in trouble. And yet one candidate will dodge these two, avoid seeing their business plan shredded, and land a £250,000 cheque.
About this programme
12/12. After 11 weeks of over-enthusiastic wine-tasting, serving slop as gourmet food, sticking legs on suitcases and boardroom backstabbing, remaining candidates Jade, Nick, Ricky and Tom gather for a four-way battle to determine who will set up in business with Alan Sugar, and receive a £250,000 cash injection to get their new company off the ground. Their final task is an old favourite - the interview stage - in which the hopefuls are grilled about their CVs and business plans by the peer and his trusted associates, including former assistant Margaret Mountford. Once the winner is announced, it is over to The Apprentice - You're Hired studio, where Dara O Briain talks to the main players about this year's series, with the help of actress and presenter Denise Van Outen, comedienne and Loose Women Jenny Eclair and retail entrepreneur Jo Malone. Last in the series.
