Two top sports health doctors bring us the latest thinking on how to deal with pain, whether it’s a sports injury, arthritis or a chronic back condition. And because there’s “pain” in the title of the programme, they compensate by making the tone as wacky and playful as possible, filled with stunts to “bring the story to life”.
So we see Professor Greg Whyte try to do some ironing while wearing a suit that simulates having osteoarthritis – but he doesn’t do this just anywhere, he does it on the pitch at Wembley Stadium. Meanwhile, his colleague Dr Jack Kreindler tries cage-fighting to show the best way of treating bruises. Yes, a packet of frozen peas helps.
About this programme
Health professionals Dr Jack Kreindler and Professor Greg Whyte present a light-hearted look at the science of pain. To reveal key facts about chronic back pain, osteoarthritis and other similar complaints - and how they can be treated - the duo become guinea pigs and hurt each other in a series of bizarre experiments.
