It’s hard to see the plot for the thickets of the script. But what emerge are domestic tribulations: frosty detective Linden’s ex-husband is suing for custody of their son to save him from a life of ready meals and hotel rooms. And Rosie’s kid brothers, forever being told to watch TV or get in the car, are understandably deeply unhappy. After all, their sister has been murdered and their mum has vanished just when they need her. In the actual murder investigation, it’s hard to tell what’s going on. But a tattoo could prove significant.
