If you are a Mad Men stalwart, if you have seen every single episode of every single series, then here you are rewarded with a couple of little gifts, call-backs to characters and situations that will resonate, but only with the devoted.
Such largesse is fitting, as it’s Christmas. But not everyone is filled with good cheer. Lane has problems with the Inland Revenue — he has a hilariously posh, clipped phone conversation with his accountant that wouldn’t be out of place in a Noël Coward drawing-room comedy. And Joan has a spectacular meltdown. But there could be good news on the horizon as the agency is in with a shot at the Jaguar account, or Jagwar (as everyone insists on pronouncing it) .
