Stuart Jessup and his bouncy springer spaniel, Poppy, are engaged on a 2,500-mile walk around England to raise money for and awareness of two mental-health charities. Stuart and Poppy aim to walk 15 miles a day, spending their nights in a camper van that Stuart’s wife, Kate, drives to different locations for him.
As presenter Clare Balding comments after she’s been chatting to them for a while, it’s a very primitive life — all open road, fresh air, limited resources and no luxuries — but since Stuart started the walk his own depression has lifted.
